The Rome River Shootout Baseball Tournament, slated for July 25-26 and August 8-9 is bound to cause a bang in the ballpark and registration is ongoing.
The tournament, hosted by the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority, will be held at Historic Riverview Park behind the levee in downtown Rome. Participating ages are 6U through 14U and the tournament includes a Pool Play followed by a Single Elimination Tournament.
For 6U and 8U Coach Pitch, there’s no team entry fee, but a $100 security deposit is due the Wednesday before each tournament – July 22 and Aug. 5 – to reserve team space. The payment is forfeited if teams are withdrawn after those deadlines.
For 10U, 12U and 14U Live Pitch, a $100 Team fee is required prior to the first pitch. Checks should be made payable to RFPRA.
Awards for 1st and 2nd place will be given to individual players per each age division and a $200 bat prize will be given to the 1st place team in each age division, with a minimum of six teams entered.
