Registration for Summer Camps starts now!

Rome, GA- Summer is around the corner and Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is preparing for summer camps. While we some of their popular camps return, new camps are being introduced. The first one is Road Trip camp. This camp consists of trips to many different parks and attractions. There is also Camp Glam! This camp consists of all things girly. There will be facials, DIY crafts, and so much more. The last camp to get some changes is Camp Anthony! Erin Cape is now the new coordinator and is making sure Camp Anthony stays a favorite with new themes and exciting field trips.

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is proud to offer a variety of camps for all of Rome-Floyd county. Camps are offered for kids all of all ages! Registration can be done in-person at Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation’s main office at 1 Shorter Ave. or online at rfpra.com/camps. Below is a full list of all the camps being offered this summer.

1. Road Trip: NEW!

Ages: 9 – 13

Cost: $275

Date: July 23 – 27

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Don’t get left behind, registration is limited so register early! Finish out the summer with trips to White Water, Lakepoint Station, Terminus Aqua Park, The Rome Braves, Colosseum Escape Room, High Point indoor rock climbing and Berry BOLD.  Lunch will be provided 3 out of 5 days. Registration Deadline is July 13th!

2. Kids vs. Wild:

Ages: 8 – 12

Cost: $130/week

Dates: June 18 – 22, July 16 – 20

Time: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This camp is an exciting week in the great outdoors with activities including: archery, fishing, nature crafts, wildlife identification, SWAT, outdoor fire safety, and much more. Sponsored by Rome-Floyd Parks & Recreation, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and the Floyd County Wildlife Club.

3. Camp Glam

Ages: 5 – 10

Cost: $90

Date: June 4 – 8

Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Location: Thornton Center

This camp is all things girly and will be themed based each day. Campers will enjoy activities from facials, nails, crafts, DIY projects, games and more! Light snack will be provided each day.

4. Lego Nerf Camp

Ages: 6 – 12

Cost: $90

Date: June 18 – 22

Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Campers will enjoy using their imaginations building LEGO creations and releasing their energy in Nerf Wars while building teamwork and communication skills with organized LEGO builds, free play, crafts, Nerf games and more! A light snack will be provided each day.

5. Camp Goodtimes

Ages: 6 – 21

Cost: $100/week

Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Dates: June 25 – 29; July 2 – 6 & July 9 – 13.

Camp Goodtimes is a three-week summer day camp program for developmentally challenged youth. Fun activities will include: swimming, bowling, crafts, field trips and more. It’s the highlight of the summer!

6. All-Sports Camp


Ages: 7 – 14

Cost: $90 (Includes a T-shirt!)

Time:  9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Dates: June 11 – 15

Location: Meet at Thornton Center. Campers will be transported to daily activity locations.

All Sports Camp is one of our most exciting, fun-filled weeks of camp. Kids will have a blast playing several sports, learning the values of sportsmanship and team-building activities. This camp will offer the opportunity for an athlete to compete in a variety of sports – basketball, volleyball, soccer, swimming, flag football, and tennis. Each day will focus specifically on one sport. Local head coaches from various programs will be invited to run a full morning of instructional programs, and in the afternoon the players will compete in various competitions that will allow them to show off the knowledge and skills they gained from the morning sessions.

7. Gymnastics Camp

Ages:  3 – 5 (15 spots/week) 6+ (30 spots/week) Must be potty-trained.

Cost: $100/week

Time: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Dates (Choose from one of three sessions): June 11 – 14, June 25 – 28, July 9 – 12

Each day, campers will enjoy gymnastics, tumbling, games and arts & crafts! Daily snack provided. Includes a T-shirt! Gymnastics experience not required. Campers should bring shoes daily and dress in athletic wear.

 8. Camp Anthony

Ages:  5 – 12

Cost: Pre-registration: $100 per week

1st Day of Camp: $120 per week

Camp Anthony has a different theme each week to entertain children with a safe, fun, and active environment. Campers will enjoy arts & crafts, group games, movies, free play, and more each week! We will be swimming on Fridays at Northside Swim Center & go on Field Trips every Wednesday!  Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack will be provided. Campers are welcome to bring their lunch & encouraged to bring a morning snack. * Campers may be asked to bring a lunch on some field trips. Hurry and register early and save $20. Price goes us on the first day of camp.

Week 1: Blue Hawaii (May 29 – June 1)

Aloha to Summer! We are bringing the tropics to
Rome, Georgia! Campers will enjoy tropical themed crafts, games, snacks, & movies. We will even visit the Tennessee Aquarium!

Week 2: You Should Be Dancing (June 4 – June 8)

Come get your groove on while experiencing the 70s! Campers will not only be playing fun games but we will be making a trip to the bowling alley and may even have a guest come by to teach a few dance moves!

Week 3: Holiday, Celebrate! (June 11 – June 15)

Experience five holidays in five days! We will celebrate a different holiday everyday ending with a birthday party on Friday. We will take a trip to the Gymnastics Center this week!

Week 4: Walk The Dinosaur (June 18 – June 22)

Travel back in time to the land of the lost! We will have fun doing all things dinosaur this week. There is even a trip planned to Stone Mountain’s Dinosaur Explore Attraction!

Week 5: I Need A Hero (June 25 – June 29)

Calling all superheroes! Grab your capes, shields, and masks and get ready for fun! We will have incredible games and activities to play and we will take a field trip to the movies to see The Incredibles 2!

Week 6: Party In The USA (July 2 – July 6)

Come and enjoy a week of wet n’ wild water activities! We will be playing in water every day. Water inflatables, slip and slides, water balloons, water games, foam and bubbles. We will be closed on July 4th.

Week 7: Rocky Mountain High (July 9 – July 13)

Campers will play some classic lawn games this week such as tug of war, sack races, & more. Don’t forget your hiking shoes because we are hiking to Martha Berry’s House of Dreams!

Week 8: Welcome To The Jungle (July 16 – July 20)

Lions, Tigers & Bears, oh my! We are getting WILD this week! Campers who love animals are going to love this week! We even have a trip planned to the Chattanooga Zoo!

Week 9: We Are The World (July 23 – July 27)

Grab your bag and your passport! Our campers will become world travelers this week as they will be exploring other cultures and nations through music, games, and activities. Adventure awaits as we make an exciting field trip that will be out of this world!

Week 10: We Will Rock You (July 30 – August 1)

Our VIP campers will shine this week! Come join us for a camp full of music, karaoke, & talent! Because it is a short week, we won’t be taking a field trip but we will still plan a trip to the pool!
