Roman Roast Team thanks sponsors, volunteers

As Roman Roast on the River wrapped up its seventh year, Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation would like to thank  volunteers and sponsors for all they did to make the event possible.

“We had another great Roman Roast and the weather was perfect, the barbecue was awesome and the people had a blast, which is what it’s all about,” said Betsy Hampson, event coordinator. “Without Sonny’s BBQ, Springer Mountain Farms Chicken and Parker Systems, this event would not have been as wonderful as it was.”Main on White Background

Sonny’s BBQ provided the pork butts for the People’s Choice competition and Springer Mountain Farms provided wings for the King of the Wings contest.  Parker Systems provided power for the entire event.

Other sponsors made the event possible, notably Coca Cola Bottling Company of Rome, and also Home Depot, Southern Girls BBQ Roadshow, National Barbecue News, Floyd Medical Center, Rhinehart Equipment Company, 99.5 The Jock, Hardees, and more.  SpringerMountain Farms

“We were truly blessed to have developed such wonderful partnerships for this fundraiser that goes toward our activities for people with special needs, our camps and our active adults,” Hampson said. “We are already looking forward to next year’s Roman Roast on the River.”
